Extras

Goodies to eat

Wander through the almonds and olives behind the house to collect eggs and discover whats growing in the organic kitchen garden. Guests are welcome to the tomatoes, peppers, herbs and other goodies growing there.

We grow as much of our own food as we can and source locally wherever possible.

Green credentials

We have made the farmhouse as 'green' as possible. As well as solar hot water the house has solar underfloor heating for the cooler winter months. The lounge also has a pellet stove to reduce our carbon footprint. Pellets are made locally from almond husks and olive stones. The water from the two shower rooms is recycled and used to irrigate the plants around the house. We use energy saving bulbs wherever/whenever possible and are always aware to turn lights off and save water by not running taps unnecessarily. Water is a precious commodity here in Andalucia.

Chef

Rob, who has rebuilt the cortijo with his own sweat, tears and at times, blood, is a chef by profession! Rob would be delighted to let you have a night off and for him do all the work for the evening.

Menu options and prices can be discussed during, or prior to, your stay.

Welcome pack

There will be a welcome pack here when you arrive – tea, coffee, wine, bread, nibbles, etc.

If you require we can do a fuller shop for you to be here when you arrive. We can discuss this on the phone prior to your arrival.

The welcome pack is also full of useful information about where to buy an English newspaper, the nearest bakery and other essential local information. If you need to know anything else, we are always at the end of the phone to help.

Activities

For those of you who want some action why not let us help you organise a day out - scuba diving, horse riding, trekking, mountain biking, boat trips, etc.
