This traditional 100 year old farmhouse is situated 800m above the Mediterranean near the rural hamlet of El Toril in the Axarquia area of Malaga province in Andalucia. Enveloped by the rugged, verdant mountains of the Sierra de Tejeda to the east, the Montes de Malaga to the west and the panorama of Lake Vinuela and the Mediterranean to the south, this place really is a paradise found. At times you can see the mountains of Africa on the horizon. Yet this hidden idyll is only an hour from either Malaga or Granada airports.
The charming property has been renovated imaginatively in a rustic style.It faces south and sits among 5000sqm of olives and almond groves. The tranquil location features a fabulous 9mx4m private solar heated, saltwater pool with a large sunbathing area, a shaded summer terrace and BBQ/dining area with 'the best views in Axarquia'.
The cool, light, spacious house has five double bedroom and three stunning bathrooms. A comfortable home from home for up to 12 guests. There is a large family kitchen/diner and a luxurious sitting room with satellite TV and south facing views. The gardens and vine covered terraces that surround the property offer many places to relax and unwind in or out of the sun.
We keep our own free range chickens on the land so guests can enjoy fresh eggs every day as well as a selection of vegetables and herbs from the organic kitchen garden.
Casa Belmonte lies between the two white villages of Periana and Alcaucin - both 10 mins away by car through beautiful countryside. The sunshine beaches of the eastern Costa del Sol are 25 minutes away. The historic cities of Granada, Malaga and Cordoba are all easy day trips.
Casa Belmonte is ideal for family holidays or groups of friends. If you like being at one with nature this is the place for you.
